Privacy Policy
The short version
PlanDinner is a weekly meal-planning app. Each person has their own account and can join a shared household, where everyone sees the same meal plan and grocery list. We collect only what’s needed to run the app — your email, your name, and the plans and lists you create. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites. You can edit your information any time, and you can permanently delete your account and its data from inside the app.
1. Who we are
PlanDinner (“PlanDinner,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a mobile application operated by Product One, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the PlanDinner iOS app. If you have questions, contact us at support@plandinner.app.
2. Information we collect
We only collect information needed to provide the app. Specifically:
Account information:
- Email address — used to create and sign in to your account.
- Password — handled by our authentication provider and stored only in a securely hashed form. We never see or store your plain-text password.
- Display name — shown to other members of your household.
Household & content you create:
- Household membership — which shared household your account belongs to, so plans and lists sync with the right people.
- Meal plans, grocery lists, and the items and notes you add — the content you create in the app.
Subscription:
- PlanDinner offers a paid subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store — we do not collect or store your payment card details. We receive your subscription status from Apple so we can unlock the features you’ve paid for.
What we do not collect:
- We do not use analytics or tracking tools.
- We do not show advertising or use advertising identifiers.
- We do not collect your location, contacts, or browsing history.
- We do not use any third-party tracking SDKs.
- We do not use your camera or photo library.
3. How we use your information
- Create and secure your account and sign you in.
- Provide the core features — keeping your weekly plan and grocery list in sync across your devices and the members of your household.
- Unlock subscription features based on your status from Apple.
- Keep the app working correctly and securely.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any form of cross-app or cross-site tracking.
4. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only in these limited ways:
- Service provider. We use Supabase to provide the app’s backend — the database and account authentication. Supabase stores your data on secure cloud servers on our behalf and may only process it to provide these services. (See Supabase’s privacy practices.)
- Apple. Subscription purchases are processed by Apple via the App Store under Apple’s own privacy policy.
- Within your household. Members of your household share the same meal plan and grocery list. Your data is never visible to other households or other users of the app.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others.
5. Where your data is stored and how we protect it
- Encryption in transit — all communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS.
- Hashed credentials — passwords are stored only in securely hashed form.
- Household isolation — database security rules ensure each household can access only its own data, never another household’s.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (see below), we permanently delete your account and its associated personal data.
7. Your choices and rights
- Edit your information — you can update your name, plans, lists, and settings at any time within the app.
- Delete your account — you can permanently delete your account and its data from within the app. This action cannot be undone.
- Manage your subscription — view, change, or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA (for example, the right to access, correct, or delete your data). To exercise any of these, contact us at support@plandinner.app.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
9. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or your information, contact us at: Product One, LLC — support@plandinner.app. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA.
